EWES Sound Fastener is a Swedish invention that efficiently reduces any ambient noise, such as footsteps, talking and so on. The measured effect corresponds to 9 dB, or almost a halving of the perceived noise level.
How is this possible?
SF creates a millimetre-wide gap between the wooden stud and the 12.5 mm plasterboard/OSB board. This effectively reduces the transmission of sound waves through wall or ceiling constructions.
